In keeping with our commitment to be pro-active in helping to take care of the planet, Golden Park Resort has been designed to sit at the crossroads in respect of environment and sustainable energy. As the infrastructure is well advanced, the inclusion of a number of initiatives to reach this green goal will be inherently easier than for many completed developments, which are forced to face the expense of adjusting or changing.
These are some of the primary features under construction.
Green Commitment
To ensure our green commitment is driven at all levels, all Golden Park staff will be highly-trained and educated in energy conservation, sourcing as much as possible from local manufacturers and suppliers.
Unit inclusions
Every unit will benefit from state-of-the-art technological set up – featuring internal wirings, Wi-Fi, dimmer switches, sealed ventilation systems, and a regular maintenance contract that will ensure any problems are rectified as quickly as possible. The Service Level Agreement (SLA) with residents is signed and adhered to from the day you receive the keys to your new property.
Transport
Bicycles will be provided free of charge throughout the resort, which has been designed to feature no hills, therefore there’s no need for vehicles to burn extra energy. All Golden Park vehicles will be powered by a selection of electricity, diesel or a mix of these and or LPG.
Materials used to construct
All the materials used in the construction of the resort will be produced locally, and in most cases, will be natural.
Waste
Any excess food throughout the resort will subsequently be recycled locally; ensuring it always becomes ‘organically sorted’ waste.
Sewerage
A number of initiatives are being discussed that will minimalise the reliance on the Government's current system - creating more efficient procedures. More details on this will be made available, as soon as we complete the studies.
Funding
We will request that the ministries help to fund the ongoing development of our project – ensuring we have access to the most up-to-date green technology possible.
Awards
Golden Park is aiming to have the lowest carbon footprint in Egypt, with the ultimate aim to be independently assessed as the number one ‘Environmentally Friendly’ resort in Egypt.
As part of a concerted effort to improve the efficiency to the resort, rewards will be given to employees and residents.
Heat and light
Lighting throughout the resort will come from a combination of stored energy - through photovoltaic cells – and on-site energy stores. To minimize wastage, all street lighting will be on a timer system, with other lights activated by movement. The energy for all external Golden Park lighting will come from solar power, via dawn to dusk sensors. Internally, supplementary solar powered lights will be utilized.
Noise pollution
In an area featuring over 400 hotels and much more besides, the output of noise is always a problem. In an effort to lessen the overall levels as much as possible, Golden Park will feature the use of ‘buffering’ materials, together with a strict code of conduct requested of all on the development regarding respecting each other’s space. The use of natural plants and water features will also help to separate the areas within the resort, and ‘low noise’ or ‘silent areas' will be included for all residents to use.
Water
All the water at Golden Park is produced on site and recycled for reuse. Waste water is processed and separated on site, before being reprocessed, and there is minimal reliance on centrally produced water supplies.
Packaging
All resort packaging is fully biodegradable, as is all the packaging sold within shops.
Cleaning and maintenance
All Golden Park cleaning materials are fully biodegradable.
Energy
Throughout the resort solar power will be the primary energy supplier, together with small wind turbines used to provide focused wind power that will then be harnessed to subsidize the energy production from other sources. Any excess energy can be bought or sold locally.
The Golden Park development has an energy ‘hub’ that maximizes efficiency, and this design provides individual’s homes and units with a similar hub concept - supplying energy for light, heat etc via a hub that is shared between every six units.
In addition, the condominiums across the resort are served by a central service area, whereby an air-conditioning facility has been thoughtfully sited in order to reduce noise pollution and conserve energy by providing air-conditioning for 6 separate condominiums at once. This is designed to help keep harmonious living at the very heart of every day Golden Park living.
Conclusion
Golden Park has clearly stated its ambition to have the lowest carbon footprint in Egypt, and we will ensure that all facilities and equipment will be developed with an environmental awareness, and where appropriate, change any new systems to meet the very highest green standards.
The Kimidar mission is –
‘To be aware of our environment, and to take care of the world we live in’
